Commissioner James Warner's number one goal is to exercise sound fiscal responsibility while making Waxhaw a first class community. His primary goals while in office are to improve the city infrastructure in lesser served communities; improve park and recreation facilities and programs; complete the proposed new Town Hall at a reasonable cost; and connect the two town centers.
Having previously served on the first Waxhaw Planning Board from 1990 to 2002, he has more recently served from 2011 until his election to the town board in 2013. He also serves on the Hillcrest Small Area Plan Advisory Committee.
His civic and professional organizations are the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Concrete Institute; he is also a licensed professional engineer in NC and seven other states. He is a member of Calvary Church in Charlotte.
