At the recommendation of North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper’s three-phase plan for lifting restrictions, some of Waxhaw’s trails and open spaces will begin opening starting Saturday, May 9th, at 8:00 AM.
As the facilities re-open, citizens must continue following the CDC’s guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19. This includes maintaining a social distance of six feet from others, wearing a face mask or cloth covering if you have one, washing your hands or using hand sanitizer often, and staying home if you’re not feeling well.

Signage will be located throughout Waxhaw’s parks and trail system to note which facilities are open and which are closed during Phase One. Waxhaw staff will be closely monitoring parks to ensure only designated open spaces are being used.

While the parks and trails will be open, Town of Waxhaw government buildings will remain closed to the public until further notice.
