Do you have a desire to get involved in our wonderful Waxhaw community but don’t know where to start? Why not apply for one of Waxhaw’s Advisory Boards/Commissions? The ABC Board, Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission, Planning Board, Main Street Advisory Board and Parks, Cultural & Recreation Advisory Board will all have membership seats that expire on September 30th.
New terms are for 3-years (staggered terms) beginning October 1, 2020 and expiring September 30, 2023. Residency is required for the first 4 boards listed above. Applications received by the Town Clerk’s Office by June 30, 2020 will be considered for appointment.

The following 3-year terms begin October 1, 2020 and expire September 30, 2023:
Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board – 2 regular member seats
Board of Adjustment (BOA) – 2 regular member seats & 1 alternate seat
Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) – 1 regular member seat
Main Street Advisory Board (MSAB) – 3 regular member seats
Planning Board (PB) – 2 regular member seats
Parks, Cultural & Recreation Advisory Board (PCR) – 3 regular member seats
Total of 14 appointments to be made before October 1, 2020.
Please note that applications received/on file with the Clerk’s Office by June 30, 2020 will be considered. Applications remain active/on file for one year with the Clerk’s Office. Existing members with expiring terms and seeking re-appointment must submit an application to be considered.
