Town of Waxhaw Summer Events Cancelled

In the effort to support Governor Cooper’s phased approach to reopening and as a result of the financial impact COVID-19 has put on our community, the Town of Waxhaw sponsored summer events have been cancelled through August 2020. This includes our annual July 4th parade and summer concert series.  Due to the Town of Waxhaw’s budget cycle, and the amount of effort involved in the planning and execution of these events, the decision had to be made earlier than one might expect. We appreciate your support and cooperation as we navigate this ever-changing environment to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

While we won’t be able to spend July 4th as we normally do, the Town of Waxhaw will still be celebrating our independence and continue our town tradition with a virtual community event on July 4th. Although we may be apart, we are in this together. Please stay tuned on Facebook and the Waxhaw website for more information on virtual summer events.

Any parks or recreation-related questions can be directed to parkrec@waxhaw.com.
