July 24th BOC Meeting Recap

On Tuesday July 24, 2018, the Waxhaw Board of Commissioners conducted both a work session and our regularly scheduled business meeting.

During the sessions, the Board of Commissioners received updates on:

  • The project to modernize Waxhaw’s codes and ordinances. This first ever refinement will complete in mid-August;
  • The project to preserve the Town of Waxhaw’s historical minutes;
  • Three potential transportation improvement projects within Waxhaw;
  • Work Plans from the Historic Preservation Commission and the Main Street Advisory Board;
  • The options and process for proper disposal of real estate by a municipality;

At the regular meeting, the Board of Commissioners accomplished the following for the Town of Waxhaw:

  • Conducted a public hearing on the voluntary annexation of 12+ acres of land located at 2410 and 2412 Providence Road South;
  • Approved intersection improvements to the Waxhaw Marvin – Kensington Intersection; These improvements are to be completed by the developer of the Millbridge subdivision by June 1, 2019;
  • Discussed and approved two ordinances as part of our ordinance modernization efforts. The ordinances updated Waxhaw’s business regulations and the parking of recreational vehicles and trailers;
  • Approved staff’s recommendation for the design at Kensington Drive and Cuthbertson Road as part of the Highway 16 widening project;

Thank you to those that attended in person and to those that view via our Town YouTube Channel. The recording of Tuesday’s meetings will remain on our You Tube channel until the minutes are drafted and approved.
