Mayor's Recap: February 12th BOC Meeting

On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, the Waxhaw Board of Commissioners conducted our regularly scheduled business meeting.

During the regular meeting, the Board of Commissioners:

  • Welcomed two new employees: Lauren Lafond (Permitting) and Kevin Parker (Engineering) to the Town Staff
  • Adopted a resolution of support for the 2019 GingerSnap 5K/Girls on the Run event scheduled for Saturday, December 7th, 2019
  • Reviewed and completed required development ordinance cleanup to conform to new state laws
  • Conducted a public hearing on a request to allow development to move forward in Millbridge with the installation of safety improvements for better access by emergency services.
  • Received an update from Town Manager Greg Ferguson on a number of topics that will be coming to the board for decisions in the near future, including parking, Parks and Recreation, and Downtown real estate.

The Town would like to extend an invitation to all to join us for “Waxhaw Life, a Community Celebration,” on Monday, February 25, at 7:00 PM in the Community Room at Forest Hill (8120 Kensington Drive). The Board and staff will be on hand to share with the community the many great things that have happened as well as the many important issues facing Waxhaw.

Thank you to all that joined us in person or on YouTube. If you have any questions, I encourage you to contact us by emailing
