Union County Boil Water Advisory

All Union County Public Works customers are under a Boil Water Advisory effective immediately due to routine water samples showing the presence of E. coli in one area. The health and safety of our water customers is our top priority. Union County Public Works is working with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality on quality control measures.

All customers will be required to boil water for all uses at this time.

A Boil Water Advisory is a public notification informing water customers to boil their tap water before drinking it, or cooking with it. Advisories are issued in response to an event that could allow contaminants to enter the water distribution system.

Union County website is currently down and they are working diligently to get that back up. They are currently using Facebook to update citizens and are planning a press conference later this morning.

We will update residents as more information becomes available.
