Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America. The day is officially observed on the last Monday in May.  Every year, the Town of Waxhaw honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country with a memorial ceremony held at the Military Wall of Honor in downtown Waxhaw.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we won’t be able to spend Memorial Day this year as we normally do, however, the Town of Waxhaw will still be observing Memorial Day through a virtual ceremony on May 25th at 10 AM via Facebook and Youtube.

We hope you will virtually join us in recognizing and remembering the lives of service men and women.

The ceremony will be aired on the Town of Waxhaw Facebook page at We will also air it on our Youtube channel at

Be sure to tune in at 10 AM for a live release of the ceremony!
