Administration
Administration is responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the Town.

Building Inspections & Permitting
Building Inspections is responsible for administering all applicable North Carolina building codes via building permit issuance and building construction inspections. Our Inspections Team ensures that construction work is built according to approved plans under local, state and national building codes.

Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement is responsible for the prevention, detection, investigation, and enforcement of violations of local ordinances. The Code Enforcement Team is dedicated to improving the appearance of the community and maintaining standards of living through the regulation of public health, safety and welfare, building standards, land-use, zoning, and municipal affairs.

Communications
The Office of Communications develops and manages the public relations program for the Town of Waxhaw, as well as distributes educational information to the public through news releases, newsletters, and other forms of printed and electronic media.

Downtown
Downtown develops and implements plans and programs fostering the redevelopment of downtown and strengthening the downtown business climate, including the management of the Waxhaw Main Street Program.

Engineering
The Engineering Department provides administrative and technical support to other town departments, private developers and citizens regarding design, construction and maintenance responsibilities of public infrastructure in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements. 

Finance
The Finance Department provides fiscally responsible control of the town's financial affairs.

 Fire Marshal
The Fire Marshal provides fire prevention inspections, fire permits, construction related fire inspections, fire plans review and other fire code enforcement related activities to all public occupancies within Waxhaw town limits.

Human Resources
Human Resources is responsible for recruiting, staffing and the maintenance of benefits program for all employees.

Information Technology
Information Technology is responsible for maintaining the town's technology, including computers, servers, backups, antivirus software, firewalls, virtual environment, wireless, switches, network topology, hardware and software, and assists all Town of Waxhaw departments with their specific needs.

Parks & Recreation
Parks & Recreation is responsible for providing recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities that promote a healthy lifestyle and excellent quality of life in a safe environment for citizens of all ages, means, and abilities.

Planning
Planning is responsible for administering the Land Development Code (LDC), addressing, permitting, subdivision and plan review, regularly updating the Town's Future Land Use Plan, and providing support to the Historic Preservation Commission, Board of Adjustment, Planning Board and Board of Commissioners.

Police
The Waxhaw Police Department, as part of and empowered by the community, is committed to a safe and peaceful environment, rendering aid to those in need, and protecting the lives, property and rights of residents and visitors.

Public Services
Public Services is responsible for the coordination of the garbage, recycling and yard debris programs, landscaping and grounds maintenance of the the downtown area. Public Services also oversees the installation and maintenance of the town’s streetlights, as well as maintenance of Town owned streets, right of ways and sidewalks and the Southside Cemetery.

Tax
Tax is responsible for collecting real and personal property taxes for the Town of Waxhaw.
