A Capital Improvement Plan is developed as a long-term plan, usually between 4 or 5 years. The plan identifies your large-scale project and equipment needs and then provides an anticipated schedule for completing them. These projects are focused on the overall improvement and enhancement of Waxhaw. CIP includes improved vehicular & pedestrian access in various areas, transportation projects as well as new equipment and utilities that will benefit Waxhaw residents.

Waxhaw has partnered with the North Carolina Department of Transportation to address traffic congestion and safety concerns.  All of the NCDOT Projects are focused on the improvement and enhancement of various roadways, parking lots, streets and sidewalks for the safety and enjoyment of Waxhaw residents.

Something Cool is Coming-TAP 

TAP (Transportation Alternatives Program) is a long overdue improvement for Downtown Waxhaw and will create a much safe and enjoyable experiences for both pedestrians and drivers. This project will better connect pedestrian access throughout downtown through new sidewalks and crosswalks, as well as create a pedestrian plaza along E N Main Street.
