Pay for Parking Ticket

(1) An owner/operator of a motor vehicle may, within 30 days of the time the above ticket is attached to the motor vehicle or delivered to the owner or operator, pay to the town clerk as penalty for the offense indicated in the notice the sum of:

Parking Fine(s)

a. Parking in a no parking zone outside of an event, overtime parking, double parking, parking on the wrong side of the street, and parking within 25 feet of an intersection of a public street shall constitute the following fines:
a. First citation - $15.00
b. Second citation - $25.00
c. Third and subsequent citations - $40.00

 

b. Being improperly parked that interferes with normal traffic flow, parking within 25 feet of a fire hydrant, on-street parking of recreational vehicles, trailers, truck tractors, truck trailer units, and special/commercial vehicles shall constitute the following fines:
a. First citation - $50.00
b. Second citation - $75.00
c. Third and subsequent citations - $100.00

 

Being parked in a "No Event Parking" area during events
a. $50.00 per violation - $50.00

 

(2) The failure of the owner or operator of the motor vehicle to appear and pay the penalty within the 30-day period shall constitute a misdemeanor and any person who shall be convicted of the violation shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $50.00 or imprisoned for a period not exceeding 30 days.

 

A convenience fee of 2.9% + $.30, charged by Stripe, will be included in the total payment for making any online payment. The Town of Waxhaw does not receive this convenience fee. The fee goes directly to Stripe for use of their site.
