Welcome to the Town of Waxhaw! It's our pleasure to help you learn what your new community has to offer. Steeped in history, Waxhaw derives it's name from the Waxhaw Indians, a tribe that once settled here. Waxhaw is also known as the birthplace of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. Our pedestrian-friendly downtown includes restaurants, retailers, antique shops and a park. It's also home to services such as real estate, insurance, accounting and legal services. Whether you are moving locally or from across the state or country, we hope this information will make the move a little bit easier.
