The North Carolina Fire Prevention Code requires issuance of mandatory fire, operational and construction permits. These permits and permit fees are currently issued upon issuance of the building permit, however, some businesses that require a mandatory fire permit may not have the correct permits. During the fire inspection, the Fire Code Official may require the business or building owner to obtain the correct or additional fire permits.
